One of the best ways to explore the city of Lübeck is probably by bike. Our city offers great routes for bicycle fans. Furthermore many parts of the city centre are closed for cars. You will need about 30-45 minutes for this route. Just follow the river and you will come back to the starting point. There are plenty of bars and pubs, so you can stop for a coffee.

The second route brings you one of the nicest residental areas of Lübeck. The city park is surrounded by old villas with a special flair. The area is very closed to the city centre. After visiting city park you should continue and make your way up to the Falkenwiese which is also a big park with a public pool at the Wakenitz river. You can enjoy a nice and refresing swim in the river which is very clean and popular. The tour will last for probably 45-60 minutes, depending on your pace of course.

The Mönkhof Karree is one of the newest shopping facilities in Lübeck. It is located in the Hochschulstadtteil (Campus district) close to the University of the city. If you are on your way to the airport then you could easily stop there for a short shopping trip. The shopping mall approximately 20 different stores and restaurants. It is mainly a location to do grocery and food shopping therefore you find stores like Real or Rossmann. There are also some shops for buying clothes and shoes like Deichmann, Bonita or Babywalz. The food sector offers different restaurants, selling Thai, Turkish or fast food.

Every year again the community in the Walli district opens its doors for a great events which attracts hundreds of visitors.
Everybody is welcome and kids will find many great fun and game opportunities during the day time. The evening offers many exciting music acts from ska to electro on different stages. The bands are mainly locals but a few of them are also international artists. The entrance fee for this event in Lübeck is 12 Euro (price 2011). Families pay only 15 Euro for two person and one child. Ones you entered the festival area it will be difficult for you to spend much money because the prices for food and drinks are really moderate. A beer will cost you only 1,50 Euro and a coffee is available for 1 Euro.
